Gündoğdu Square is one of the famous squares of İzmir which is one of the metropolitan cities of our country. This place hosts various concerts, rallies and celebrations throughout the year. The square is located in Alsancak, one of the touristic districts of Izmir, and is considered one of the top three most important squares of the city along with Konak Square and Cumhuriyet Square.
Gündoğdu Square was built by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality in 1999 with sea filling works and it hosted many organizations since the day it was built. A statue was built in 2003 in the square located on the Atatürk Street of Konak-Alsancak. Contrary to classical sculptures, the statue's name is Republic Tree.
Gundogdu Square is organized by the residents of the city and attracts attention from tourists and tourists every year of the year with its entertainment, central location and magnificent sea view.

Just superb a lot of people walking in here the sea is great there is a boat that can take you to the other side which is called karsiyaka it's just an awesome place to have a beer or read a book or even chill with friends.

It's a really nice place with uncivilized people. They throw litter everywhere that you can imagine. Although it's too much better than Karşıyaka, still it's a dirty place.
