One of our favourite places in Kadikoy. Wines are decent, food is delicious and satisfying. The garden is quite spacious. The place is generally charming. Prices are very reasonable

SADIK BAYDERE
Although the name of the place goes back to mid 1900's taking its name from the sardine and wine merchant Victor Levi of Gallipoli, the location and the owners are now different than its original; Beyoğlu, near The British Consulate. Now operating on the other side of Istanbul in Kadıköy at an old two storey small mansion house with a nice garden, the new place makes one to miss the original badly. Having the advantage of being one of the few decent wine bars on the Asian side, the place is always full even the weekdays despite its large capacity. However, the lack of the service quality for such a place one would expect and the way the wines are listed on the menu; with just numbers like 59 (which apparently represents the licence plate no of the city the grape/s are from) but nothing else like the description of the grapes and the region, Victor Levi in Kadıköy deserves better. By the way, I am surprised to see Turkish raki and beer on the menu which is not common for a wine bar. Also the thickness, type and the quality of glasses should be improved for a nice wining and the cost... Nevertheless, a place to be visited for its namesake...

Best Wine Bar in Istanbul. And that's no exaggeration. If you've struggled to find a decent bottle of the grape in Istanbul- which is not easy as Raki is the tipple of choice- this is the wine bar for you. They have domestic Turkish wines- which are identified by number, as well as New and Old world wines on offer. Atmosphere and service are both 10's. and unlike many stops in Istanbul, the staff all speak English for all us slobs unable to communicate in the local tongue. Viktor Levi is situated in Kadiköy on the Asian side, a 10 minute walk from the ferry port from if you're traveling from the European side of the Bosporus. From the Hilton, maybe 7-8 minutes toodle.
