A MUST VISIT place in istanbul! You can easily see the history within the walls and stairs! Outstandingly good view from the top doesn't let you leave the place without taking photos!
The tower is so beautiful in nights. I personally adore the whole area atmosphere. One of the best places which gathers up beauty, history and fun together!

Galata Tower is a place where you can see Istanbul from the top. It is very popular with tourists, so if you do not want to waste you time standing in long lines come here in the morning.
There is an opportunity to dress up as sultan or to put on a traditional Turkish dress for ladies and take amazing photos. But is is not free of charge.
Also there is a cafe where you can drink a cup of tasty coffee and enjoy the view of Istanbul.

What a great experience! You are given a very informational overview on the uses of the tower over the years when you go in (it’s on the billboard just before you go up the the viewing deck).
I must however mention just how long the queues are to get in. I am not exaggerating when I say that you will literally be waiting an hour in line. Not figuratively, literally.
Also, they don’t accept card payments, cash only. Don’t be caught out when you finally make it to the front desk.
The views from the top are incredible, it’s very difficult to move around when there are many people at the top, but it’s worth it. I highly advise being there at sunset if you can.

Beautiful historic spot. I was here in 2015 during the day and the line was super long. Came back again in 2019 but this time at 8:00 am and there was no line at all. I recommend visiting if you are ever in Istanbul.

The Galata Tower is comfortable for tourists who like photos with beautiful landscape. But to reach this tower, you have to queue long enough for about one and a half hours, then we take the elevator and climb the stairs around two circles around the tower, 10-15 minutes will be enough. You can still have a snack and drink Turkish coffee in a cafe at the top. We can enjoy 360° beautiful views of Istanbul.
